Sunny Beach in Galveston is a perfect destination for those looking for a relaxing and fun-filled beach vacation. This Galveston Island Beach is a picturesque beach perfect for swimming, sunbathing, frisbee, and dog walking. Its entrance is located on 8-mile  and it can get quite busy during the weekends so try to be there early for the perfect spot. In general, This beach is a particularly secluded spot for a great beach day so search for a room near Sunny Beach and make your vacation relaxing and unforgettable.

Without a doubt, it is one of the best beaches in Galveston for beach parking. There is ample space for you to drive on the beach and park your car next to your site. Clearly, this means you don’t have to lug your cooler, chairs, umbrella, and everything else you brought along over a long distance just to relax. Also, the beach sand is mostly packed but always drive with care so you don’t get stuck on the beach. If you are looking for the best beach in Galveston, Sunny beach is a great place to start.

Activities

Once you get settled in and park on the Beach, spread out and enjoy the serenity of the Gulf. Sunbathing, frisbee, jogging, or just relaxing with a book are what draws people to Sunny Beach. The beach is really wide, though some people will park right next to the water’s edge, but there’s usually plenty of beach to throw a frisbee or football around. Staking a claim in the sand for your volleyball court is also a great option on this beach.

Food and Drinks

After a nice day at the beach, you will want to cool off with a nice refreshing drink or recharge the batteries with some delicious food. Luckily both are near Sunny Beach. For a great patio bar with live music, a great view of the Gulf, pool table, and cold drinks, check out Woody’s Bar and watch the sunset from their covered deck. If you are looking for some great food with some fresh catch then right across the street is Cooper’s Landing. They have seared yellowfin tuna, Chilean sea bass, salmon, and so many other great choices for everyone to enjoy. Just up the road is also the famous Seahorse Grill, with a great selection of Po Boys, pizzas, baskets, seafood plates, and more. For a combination of patio bar and food, you can dine outside at the Tipsy Turtle overlooking the beautiful beach and Gulf waters. They do have outdoor showers there but they shut off automatically at 6pm.

Pet Friendly

Pets are welcome at Sunny Beach, especially when they obey a few simple rules. One, always keep them on a leash, and two, clean up after them. Keeping the beach clean should be a top priority for all visitors. Right up there with keeping it safe. It should be noted that not everyone loves animals so please respect others while on the beach. Additionally,  remember to protect your pet as dogs sunburn as well as humans. If you decide to bring along your furry family member then you’ll want to find a pet-friendly hotel. If you are set on daily beach visits, and who doesn’t come to visit Galveston beaches, then you may want to search for pet-friendly hotels on Seawall Blvd. There are so many great places to stay and wonderful beaches to visit with your pet. – Beach Pocket is a popular spot for locals and visitors. If you want to avoid crowds, try to visit during the week or early in the morning.
– Public Restrooms are Seasonal so plan accordingly. 
– There are no showers so make sure to bring plenty of water to rinse off with.
