Pirates' Beach

Down on the West end of Galveston Island there are several places to dig your toes in the sand and lounge on the beach. Pirates Beach was developed in the mid-70s and today has over 700 plus single family homes. Close by is the members-only Galveston Country Club, so golfing there on this trip might have to wait. Vacation rentals are available in the area and put you within reach of the beach life you dream of.

When you visit Pirates Beach you need to keep in mind that certain sections of the beach require you be a social member of the Galveston County Club, so keep an eye out for signs so your day isn’t interrupted with having to move. There is not a lot of parking with beach access either, so when you go make sure you know where you are parking and how far the walk will be. Do not park just anywhere as there may be permits required to park in certain neighborhoods or on certain streets, and you don’t want to get ticked, or worse, towed.
